WELCOME to Inspirational burst #008
JANUARY 6 , 2003
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
Welcome to the first issue of inspirational burst for 2003! This is a pretty
big burst; it contains some of Decembers links that I didn’t have time
to send out.
The other day when i was going through an old box of photos i came across about
80 images that i had taken of a series of graffiti walls in different locations
around Sydney. I vaguely remember taking them for some uni assignment but i
never ended up using them, so here i was sitting on the floor with these amazing
artworks in my hands that probably got deleted years ago.
It made me think about the 'disposability' of graffiti art and how little credit
it actually gets...perhaps its the anonymous nature of the artwork and societies
intolerance of so called 'hooligans' making their mark on the city.
I acknowledge that there is a lot of visually distasteful graffiti out there
however there are some amazing artworks, which should be appreciated both for
the works themselves and also the process in creating them. It’s inspiring
to think of the process of creating graffiti... Art pumped with adrenalin as
they hurriedly spray their paint on the walled canvas, before authority catches
them!
Well i then came across a few sites online that feature some amazing pieces;
they're in the art section below. Perhaps when i get some time in the near
future i will upload the photos that i took so that i can give them some sort
of digital permanence.
If anyone comes across more sites, which feature graffiti art, send them through
and i will include them in the next issue.
Since I have a whole bunch of new subscribers I just want to mention ‘36days’ the
deadline is drawing near so start capturing what you see.
Also for anyone who has five minutes to spare ….can you please send me
list of things which you find inspiring or things that’s you do to get
inspired… 10 things would be great but if you cant think of that many
send me what ever you have.
Its for section in my site called ‘inspire me’ which will be a
useful resource to inspire those thirsty brain cells who are salivating for
a good dose of inspiration.
Inspirational burst is sent out bi-monthly or sometimes monthly and contains
links to inspirational locations on the web.
If you no longer want to receive this email follow the instructions at the
bottom of this email.
If its made your creative juices flow, pass it on!

inspirational quote::
To design is much more than simply to assemble, to order
or even to edit; it is to add value and meaning, to illuminate, to simplify,
to clarify, to modify, to dignify, to dramatize, to persuade and perhaps even
to amuse.
Paul rand > design form and chaos
inspirational movies::
I watched ‘Bowling for Columbine’ yesterday,
it brought up some really interesting issues and also some
very sad ones, its definitely worth a look if you want
a refreshing view that takes you away from the mainstream
perspective that seems to engulf us if we forget to think
for ourselves …the media is a murderer

And on a lighter note the movie ‘Frida’ was
fab, based on Frida kaholor the artists life its a feast
for the eyes and also a great insight into one warped mono-brow
woman.…I specially love the collage sequences in
between some of the scenes and the way that the paintings
transform into a stage set.

And of course "the Lord of the Rings: The two towers" i dont need to talk about this one its just magnificent. http://www.lordoftherings.net/
